demo: photo basics course

A few weeks ago I got the chance to present a demo of my work for a job interview. The assignment was to create powerpoint mock-up of an eLearning course about using a digital camera. I thought it was a pretty fun little project! You can see a PDF of the final result here.

For the main image of the camera, I used official product photos. But for the camera shown in the step-by-step instructions, I actually used an Illustrator drawing — mainly so that I could limit the complexity of the interface and focus only on the necessary features.

Funny thing, though; the first thing I ever did in Illustrator was a camera! It was for an assignment in college. Couldn’t help but remember that experience as I put this demo together!

Well, it’s time for another portfolio! I’m looking for a new job opportunity, and I’m honestly very excited about it. I learned so much at my old job, and I’m looking forward to experiencing something new and even more challenging.

A new portfolio needs a new cover, so — here’s mine. This time I’m going with my favourite animal — BISON! And a whole herd of them, just to make things more complicated.

Here they are! I just love bison so much.

It’s Stephanie!

Stephanie did me a huge favour in helping me publish my Captivate demo course (getting around the limited availability that Adobe imposes on materials published with the 30-day trial). In return I promised to create an illustrated character based on a photo of her. Here it is!
